Tips For Making a Mortgage Process Smooth
The process of obtaining a home loan is lengthy and can be confusing. Knowing what you should and shouldn’t be doing during this time might feel overwhelming and impossible, so work with someone who really knows their stuff . Work with me and I’ll guide you through every step of the process.
Here are some tips for a smooth mortgage process
Do not apply for any new credit
Do not buy a car
Do not switch banks
Do not make unusually large deposits
Continue to pay all bills.
Please send all documentation at the time of request.
Any delay in document production can delay closing.
Please label or name documents being sent. PDF type files are the best.
We will need all numbered pages of account statements. So if there are 4 pages to a bank statement, then we will need 1, 2, 3 and 4 of 4 even if they are blank.
Underwriting will not take screenshots – please send only full statements
If mailing in documents… Please avoid staples.
Please do not blacken (sharpie), cross out or white out any information on any documents as it would then be unacceptable for underwriting.
Please AVOID making any transfers of funds in your bank accounts unless consulting with me first. Because all deposits need to be sourced, money transfers can lead to the need for multiple unnecessary documentation trails.
We do not need originals of anything – we prefer you upload documents securely to me. We can send you a link to upload them.
For Making A Smooth Mortgage Process communication and transparency is key – prior to changing anything in your financial situation during the process of obtaining a mortgage can result in unnecessary documentation requests. Please always ask us prior to making changes.
